Bits & Pieces

At the 2007 Choir Social Evening, Andrew and Paul, emulating "The Two Ronnies", entertained us with the attached song about various members of the choir - sung to the tune of "All things bright and beautiful".

In recognition of the occasion in October 21st 2006 when we performed, along with 800 odd other male voices, in the Royal Albert Hall in London, Ken Marks ( one of our tenors ) composed the attached poem.

The Choir recorded a CD in 2011 of some of their favourite songs which was available for sale to members of the audience at their concerts, to raise funds for the Choir at a price of just £5.00. However, every single copy has now been bought! The recording sessions took place on 24th and 31st March and the 7th April at Brooke Weston City Technical College, Corby and the recording was engineered by Peter Jackson of Jackson Media. There is a photo of the choir at one of the recording sessions on the gallery page.

As part of the choir's Ruby Anniversary celebrations in 2016, about half the choir plus their wives/partners took a weekend trip to Burry Port in Carmarthenshire, South Wales at the invitation of Burry Port Male Choir. To honour the occasion, Ken Marks who used to sing with Corby and now sings with Burry Port wrote and performed the attached poem while we enjoyed our evening meal at the hotel.
